Our client is looking for a Paraplanner to join their team in Tewkesbury. If you’re interested in progressing your career in financial services, this varied role could be for you. The company will provide training and exam support if you aren’t fully Diploma qualified and there is excellent potential within this role to progress into an advisory role. There is also the opportunity to work flexible hours, and (after an induction period) to work from home a few days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and maintenance of client files (compliance paperwork, client risk profiles and objectives identified, cashflow forecast, draft net worth statement, income and expenditure statements)
  • Preparing recommendations undertaking research to identify solutions to meet the client’s needs (liaising with legal and tax advisers, considering investment strategy and preparing draft recommendation reports)
  • Preparation of suitability letters for Pensions, Investments, Mortgages and Protection business
  • Ensuring all files meet with compliance requirements
  • Act as main point of contact and effectively deal with clients and other parties, while establishing and maintaining strong relationships
  • Review investment portfolio, asset allocation, risk profile
  • Carry out comprehensive CashFlow Modelling to aide with Retirement Planning

Skills and experience:

  • Minimum of two years in a Paraplanning position
  • Experience of suitability report writing, fund and product research, design of model portfolios, preparation of client files for compliance reviews
  • A comprehensive knowledge of pensions (including pension transfers) and investments including VCT/EIS and other esoteric investments
  • Obtained or working towards Diploma in Financial Planning
  • High level of analytical capability
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Experience of using Intelligent Office would be desirable but not essential
  • Self-starter who will hit the ground running and is used to working under their own initiative
  • Good time and caseload management skills
