Our client is looking for an experienced Paraplanner to join their team located in London.

Role Overview

To support the Partners and Operations Manager when informing and advising clients on financial strategies, plans and products, and organise the technical task, illustrations, and reports. As sole Paraplanner, you will be the “go-to” individual for advice on technical queries and your duties will focus on covering the full client journey, from calculations and illustrations, through to report writing and processing.  We are looking for someone who always strives to produce well thought out and meaningful client reports that demonstrate your attention to detail and understanding of a client’s needs.

Key Tasks

·       Provide technical expertise to assist with all business processing requirements of the Practice

·       Thorough review of policy data, preparing illustrations and technical calculations 

·       Fully analyse clients’ requirements, understanding their needs and ensuring their financial objectives are met

·       Develop cash flow models and accurately record client data

·       Undertaking detailed research and analysis of a wide variety of financial planning solutions

·       Construct financial planning solutions (investment, retirement, tax and estate planning) supported by the production of computer models and reports

·       Produce fully compliant and informative financial planning reports for Advisors to present to clients

·       Work efficiently alongside the administrative team to ensure all data gathering and business processing requirements are dealt with accurately and in a timely manner

·       Prepare all suitability letters and reports, taking full responsibility for the business submission process including preparation and management of the advice sets and all subsequent feedback actions (if required)

·       Liaising with third parties and/or other SJP departments, as necessary

·       Working compliantly using the in-house business processing systems and templates available  

·       Adherence to regulation set timescales for all client SLs / reports

·       Work within and stay up to date with template changes and advice notes


Experience Required

·       Minimum of 2.5 years working in a full paraplanning role within SJP (covering IHT, pension and investment products)

·       Minimum Level 4 Diploma PFS qualified or working towards it (or FPC qualified with significant industry experience)

·       Full knowledge of SJP systems including Aptus, QOD and BA grading requirements   

·       Proficiency in both Salesforce and iBusiness is essential

·       Familiar with all major research systems (e.g. FE Analytics, Voyant etc)

·       Experience of the Pension Transfer market

·       Demonstrates up to date knowledge of relevant regulation and legislation

·       Excellent report writing skills 

·       Broad experience of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
