An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paraplanner Manager / Senior Technical Paraplanner to join a successful and growing independent wealth management and financial planning business.

This is a varied and technically focused role, combining hands-on paraplanning with team management and leadership responsibilities. It would suit an experienced Senior or Technical Paraplanner who is ready to take the next step in their career, or an existing Paraplanning Manager looking for a new opportunity.

You will work closely with Financial Planners, Administrators and the wider team to provide a high-quality and efficient paraplanning service, while supporting and developing a small team of Paraplanners.

The role will involve complex financial planning cases, detailed calculations, research and interpretation of legislation, alongside responsibility for maintaining high technical and quality standards across the paraplanning function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level technical paraplanning support to Financial Planners.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate suitability reports and client recommendations.
  • Conduct research across investments, pensions and wider financial planning products.
  • Analyse complex client circumstances and financial planning requirements.
  • Complete detailed financial calculations and assess different planning scenarios.
  • Support Financial Planners throughout the advice process.
  • Work closely with Administrators and wider teams to ensure cases progress efficiently.
  • Review work to ensure high standards of technical accuracy and report writing.
  • Manage, support and develop a small team of Paraplanners.
  • Allocate and oversee workloads to ensure deadlines and service standards are met.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the paraplanning team.
  • Assist with improving processes and maintaining an efficient paraplanning service.
  • Ensure work is completed to a high standard and in line with regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Handle complex technical queries and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Contribute to the continued development of the financial planning and paraplanning function.


About You:
We are looking for an experienced financial planning professional with a strong technical background and the ability to combine detailed paraplanning work with team leadership.

You will ideally have:

  • Significant experience as a Senior Paraplanner, Technical Paraplanner or Paraplanning Manager.
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments and financial planning.
  • Experience preparing detailed suitability reports and recommendations.
  • Excellent research, analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning legislation, rules and regulations.
  • Experience handling complex financial planning cases.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of technical accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Advisers and wider teams.
  • Previous experience managing, mentoring or supporting other Paraplanners.
  • Ideally, a Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent qualification.
